We are living in a tragedy, all of us. It is of epic proportions, we are beginning to fully understand. As artists we try to bear witness to what is happening to us and around us. We know other artists and writers and musicians are doing the same and this gives us a certain resilient strength, a strength that does not come from our leaders. It comes from us. We will continue.
The garden early in the morning is alive, as it is every morning no matter what is happening in the big world. I take comfort in that. I offer that comfort to you who I cannot see or hug.
